ABOUT KRISTEN SULLIVAN
Kristen Sullivan is a voice actor and singer with a sound that’s fresh and full of personality. From playful kids and animated characters to effortlessly conversational commercial reads, Kristen brings a quality sense of performance to every project.
Her work includes campaigns for Gabby’s Dollhouse, Palmer’s, Tula Skincare and Ikon Pass, along with the role of Yuzuru in the English dub of A Silent Voice – to name but a few!. Whether she’s voicing a toy commercial, animation or lifestyle brand, Kristen brings the same talents to the booth: versatility, creativity and a genuine love for what she does.
Kristen Sullivan has been finding reasons to perform for as long as she can remember (and loving each and every job). As a kid, she was already singing, acting, doing theatre and printing out her own headshots and résumés to mail to agents from a young age. Years later, the technology improved (thankfully), but the idea never really changed: Kristen knew she wanted to make a living in performance. That path eventually led her to the wonderful world of voiceover.
While studying communications in college, Kristen interned at multiple radio stations and discovered how naturally her love of performance fit with the world behind the microphone. She also developed a love for the production side of audio, having spent years playing around with GarageBand, recording herself and learning how to edit sound. She later worked in radio production as well as casting for unscripted television, digital projects, and commercials. This is an experience that gave her an unusually rounded understanding of what happens on both sides of a production.
Today, Kristen works across animation, toys, explainers, podcasts, e-learning, commercials, and more. Her voice can move from an energetic kid or animated character to a relaxed, naturally, conversational read, making her especially well placed with brands looking for something bright, current, and genuinely conversational.
Her credits include a number of commercial campaigns for Gabby’s Dollhouse, alongside work for toy and youth brands that have become a major part of her voiceover career. Her commercial work also extends into the lifestyle space, with brands including Tula Skincare, Poppi Soda and Ikon Pass, while her character work includes the role of Yuzuru in the English-language dub of A Silent Voice and Gotcha in the English-language dub of Bullet Bullet on Disney+. She has also voiced projects for Meet Cute and Pinna. While Kristen continues to build on her work in toys and youth focused campaigns, she’s equally excited to be expanding into a broader lifestyle market.
Her background as both an actor and singer gives her a strong feel for character and musicality, but Kristen is equally serious about what happens after the performance. She cares deeply about the finished product, takes direction well, and approaches sessions collaboratively. In her own words, the qualities she wants clients to associate with her are ”professional, fun, youthful, fresh and versatile”.
Based in New York, Kristen works from a professional home studio equipped with a Studiobricks booth, Neumann TLM 103, and Apogee Duet, with Source-Connect available for remote sessions. Her setup has been used to record work airing nationally, while remote connectivity allows her to work with clients virtually anywhere.
For Kristen, though, voiceover has never really been about the equipment, the credits, or even the genre. She does it because she genuinely loves performing. She’s been chasing that feeling since she was six years old and fortunately, she no longer has to mail her own headshots to agents.
